Step into centuries of history
welcome to stoneleigh abbey
With humble beginnings as a Cistercian abbey in 1154, Stoneleigh was converted after the Dissolution into a palatial home and was to become the seat of the Leigh family for over 400 years. Stoneleigh Abbey has played house to several people of note, including King Charles I, Queen Victoria, and novelist Jane Austen.
